THE LOST HEIRESS
My parents were very considerate.
Considering I was over twenty, they bought a new apartment outside for me, giving me private space.
But usually, I preferred living with them.
Occasionally, I would go to that apartment.
For example, today.
The dry financial rules made me sleepy.
The doorbell suddenly rang.
I thought the delivery arrived and hurriedly ran to open the door.
But standing outside was Vincent.
His eyes suddenly lit up: “You really are here, I found the right place.”
“What do you want?”
“Daphne, since you’re not dead, our relationship can definitely continue, right?”
“Relationship? What relationship do we have?”
I smiled mockingly,
“Do you mean the relationship where you faked amnesia to use me?”
Vincent’s smile froze.
“You, when did you find out?”
“A long time ago.”
“I can explain! At that time, that plan was proposed by Layla. I refused at first too, but I couldn’t stand her constantly making a fuss, so I pretended to have amnesia to find you. Actually, I always regretted it…”
“Then go regret it, goodbye.”
Just as I was about to close the door, Vincent reached out to block it.
The door frame squeezed his hand, hurting him so much he hissed, but he wouldn’t pull it back.
“Daphne, forgive me, okay? For the sake of me saving your life!”
I remained silent.
That matter was my weakness.
Vincent thought he had found a breakthrough.
Just as he was about to confidently step into the room.
A deep male voice suddenly came from inside:
“Who is it?”
Following that, a man with a bath towel wrapped around his waist walked out dripping wet.
As he walked, he wiped his wet short hair.
Following his raised arm, the strong and beautiful muscle contours were fully visible.
“Is someone harassing you?”
Theodore said indifferently,
“Don’t be afraid, I’ll call security.”
Vincent’s face turned pale; he found an excuse and slipped away.
I rolled my eyes at Theodore, thinking to myself:
You sure know how to show off.
Just now, when Theodore arrived, it was raining.
Afraid he’d catch a cold, I urged him to take a hot shower.
I didn’t expect him to just walk out like that.
After Vincent left, I complained:
“Are you crazy? Coming out without clothes on?”
“Oh, I threw my clothes in the dryer, wanted to borrow some clothes from you first.”
“I only have dresses here, are you going to wear one?”
“That works too.”
Theodore smirked, acting a bit casually lazy,
“But you have to keep it a secret for me, it’s my first time wearing women’s clothes.”
I rolled my eyes at him again.
“You being like this will cause people to misunderstand me.”
“So what?”
He sat down on the sofa, his posture somewhat relaxed,
“Is that man very important to you? You’re so afraid he’ll misunderstand?”
“… Not really.”
Perhaps, letting Vincent misunderstand was actually a good thing.
“Have you finished reading the materials?” Theodore suddenly asked.
“Not yet.”
“Hurry up, don’t dawdle. Teacher Theodore meticulously selected these materials for you, please cherish them.”
I sighed in resignation.
I don’t know what my parents were thinking, hiring Theodore to be my teacher.
They wanted me to be involved in the family business in the future.
But I lacked too much business logic.
Arthur was truly very busy, so they could only find someone else.
Among our peers, Theodore was uniquely gifted.
The two families had a good relationship, so he became my exclusive tutor.
We agreed to normally have classes in this house.
Theodore had a lazy personality, but he was very strict with me.
Under his high pressure, I often studied until my mind wandered.
That little bit of good impression from our first meeting had long been shattered to pieces.
“After reading the materials, go look at some case studies. Only when you’ve finished reading everything can you eat.”
“Are you a devil?”
The devil himself shrugged, casually opening my private stash of snacks.
There was a lot to learn.
But under Theodore’s supervision, I miraculously managed to study.
Where I didn’t understand, he would patiently explain.
By the time I finished learning everything.
The lunch Theodore ordered had also arrived.
While eating, I remembered that scene just now.
The moment Vincent saw Theodore.
His expression was a bit unnatural.
Could it be that those two knew each other?
I threw out my question.
Theodore said calmly: “I guess we know each other…
“Half a year ago, at the dinner table, his girlfriend scolded me.”
“So you were that client?!”
The world is too small.
The big shot Vincent offended before was actually Theodore.
I continued asking: “Then did you hire thugs later?”
“Yes, but I didn’t plan to actually hit them, just wanted to scare them a bit.”
Unfortunately, he didn’t scare Layla.
He scared me.
I didn’t tell Theodore about this.
Since it’s in the past, there’s no need to bring it up again.
“Why did you like him?”
Theodore asked out of nowhere.
I didn’t react in time: “Who?”
“Vincent.”
“Oh, I don’t like him anymore.”
“What about before? Why did you like him.”
On this question, Theodore was inexplicably stubborn.
Even though his tone sounded very casual.
“Vincent was quite outstanding during school, a genius top student, teachers and classmates all liked him, not to mention…”
He also saved my life.
