My Fiancé and My Nemesis Swapped Souls

The already bizarre emotion became even more delicate.

His state tonight was very strange, not very much like Sylvester…

But Gabriel wouldn’t speak like this either.

Besides, if the two of them had actually swapped souls back, why didn’t Gabriel say so just now?

“When you confessed your feelings to me in college, do you remember how I answered?”

I suddenly asked him.

Carrying a probing tone.

If it was Sylvester, he would definitely know.

“I remember. You said, we are destined to get married anyway, so since that’s the case, right before getting married, let’s have a proper romance.” The voice was very calm, remembering perfectly without a mistake, but the tone was somewhat incomprehensible, even carrying a hint of gnashing teeth.

I still hadn’t let go of my suspicion.

Who knows, maybe when Sylvester confessed, Gabriel was also nearby, happened to hear it, and happened to remember?

I had to say something that Gabriel would absolutely not know to test him.

“Then do you still remember when we had our first kiss?”

I looked at him silently.

He pressed his lips tightly together, his eyes darkening slightly, thoughts surging and constantly changing, before finally becoming as calm as still water after a long time.

“During college.”

He answered blandly.

My face instantly turned ice-cold: “You are not Sylvester.”

His face stiffened.

After a moment of silence, he suddenly raised his eyes and looked at me quietly, as if enduring something: “So you two kissed back in high school?”

I was furious: “It really is you! Gabriel, is it fun to trick people? You’ve already swapped back, yet you still wanted to deceive others; if it weren’t for me being smart and tricking you into exposing yourself, how much longer were you planning to deceive me?”

“So since when did you two kiss?”

Being exposed, he didn’t show any embarrassed expression, only stubbornly persisting with this question.

I said coldly: “Why should I tell you?”

Just as I was about to turn my head to continue watching what Sylvester and Hazel were doing over there, my chin was pinched by Gabriel.

“When exactly was it?”

He stared at me gloomily, his state looking quite bizarre.

I felt uneasy and backed away a bit: “…We never kissed, I was just saying that to trick you.”

“Never kissed?”

His slightly lowered eyelashes lifted gently. Just as I was feeling a sense of foreboding, he suddenly blinked lightly, carrying a seemingly non-existent wicked smile. Without warning, his thin lips moved in close, pressing onto my lips…

The warm softness from his thin lips transmitted to my brain, and in an instant, I felt like my mind exploded, buzzing.

But he didn’t go too far, only touching lightly before pulling away immediately.

Under the moonlight, his thin lips glistened with moisture, his smile radiant, as he used the exact same question I had asked him to ask me back: “Now do you remember when our first kiss was?”

“…”

I forgot how I pushed him away and ran back.

I also had no mood left to continue listening to what Sylvester and Hazel were talking about.

I suffered from insomnia all night, and had barely fallen asleep early in the morning when I was woken up by someone.

Unsurprisingly, it was Sylvester.

“Olivia, I’ve swapped back.”

My face looked exhausted: “So when are you going to cancel the engagement?”

“Olivia, is there really no way to salvage this?”

“Salvage?” I let out a cold laugh: “Last night you went to see Hazel, I saw everything.”

I calmly uttered that sentence, and Sylvester instantly froze in place: “You know? You heard it?”

Seeing me remain silent, he suddenly grew frantic: “Olivia, I can explain the matter about the baby!”

Baby?

I felt it was bizarre, but still maintained a poker face: “How do you want to explain?”

“Olivia, this matter was just an accident. There was one time at a business dinner, I happened to run into her at the table, and she was being harassed. I originally thought that since she was your friend, I should casually help her out a bit. But afterwards, I didn’t know what happened, I got drunk, and when I woke up… I slept with her once! Who would have expected her to get pregnant!”

Sylvester rambled on to explain, but I listened in stunned disbelief.

Pregnant? He and Hazel actually had a child together?

My thoughts were a bit chaotic. I had imagined absurd scenarios, but I didn’t expect it to be this absurd.

But in a flash, I suddenly understood why Sylvester was so nervous when he saw Hazel fall a few days ago; it turned out it was because she was pregnant…

“Olivia, I don’t like her, the pregnancy was truly an accident!”

Sylvester was still making excuses, and I suddenly felt a surge of frustration.

Such a Sylvester was a far cry from the image I had of him in my mind.

I remembered when we were young, he was very responsible, daring to charge into the fire to save me and bring me out.

Even though I was nearly unconscious at the time, I still vaguely recall his decisiveness back then, telling me not to be afraid and not to fall asleep, to hold on a little longer.

The fire was too big and blocked the path. I told him to go first and not worry about me, but he didn’t abandon me.

Now that he was grown up, he actually dared to do it but didn’t dare to take responsibility.

“Sylvester, it’s impossible between us anymore, saying more is useless.” I pointed out directly.

He was silent for a moment, then looked up: “Can’t you give me one more chance? I’ve only made a mistake this one time. Hazel’s matter, I will definitely handle it properly. If you mind the child, I will make her get an abortion, and absolutely won’t let her affect…”

“Sylvester.” I lowered my voice to interrupt him, my cold eyes looking at him silently: “Can you please have some dignity?”

Perhaps this was the first time I spoke to him so disrespectfully; he couldn’t believe it and froze for a moment: “Olivia…”

“What do you mean ‘if I mind the child’? Keeping or aborting the child is your choice, don’t use me as an excuse to pile more pressure on me, I cannot bear the weight of a human life.”

Usually, he always liked to preach morality to others. I thought he was so disciplined and proper, but in the end, Gabriel was ten thousand times better than him!

No, wait, this Gabriel guy even forcibly kissed someone! He’s just as terrifying! They are both jerks!

“Are you refusing to marry me because of the child, or because of Gabriel?” After a moment of silence, he suddenly asked back heavily.

I frowned slightly.

I originally wanted to save some face for him considering his life-saving grace from childhood, but he truly disappointed me.

Pausing for a moment, I looked at him coldly: “You’re right, even without this child, it would be impossible for us.”

With an absolute tone, his face turned pale then green, seemingly wanting to justify something, but I interrupted: “For the sake of you saving me when we were young, I’ll give you a few hours. Before 7 PM tonight, if you don’t take the initiative to cancel the engagement, don’t blame me for not saving your face.”

At noon, I received a call from my mom.

Unsurprisingly, Sylvester had gone to propose canceling the engagement.

I just didn’t expect Sylvester to be so shameless as to give the excuse that I had gamophobia (fear of marriage).

Then he pretended to be deeply affectionate and understanding, saying he sympathized with me and hoped I would be happy.

Upon hearing this, my parents were instantly moved and turned around to scold me harshly.

And Sylvester’s parents felt extremely proud of their son’s kindness and sense of responsibility. After some persuasion, they agreed to cancel the engagement.

“Having said that, you guys are really still too young, having graduated for less than two years. We won’t force you anymore in the future. When you want to get married, we’ll arrange it then.”

My mom nagged endlessly on the other end of the line, while I was so angry I could burst into flames.

Finally, after hanging up, I planned to find Sylvester to settle the score.

But the security guards at the door had long been withdrawn, and he had slipped away ages ago.

In the massive villa, only Gabriel and I were left.

As soon as I saw him, I remembered the ambiguous incident from last night. Not daring to say a word, I turned to sneak away.

But that annoying guy took a big step to block my way: “This place is very far from the city center, let me drive you back.”

“Who are you looking down on? Do you think I don’t have a car?”

“Not really, but your mom asked me to drive you back.”

As if afraid I wouldn’t believe him, he even pulled out a recording of the call with my mom and played it for me.

“Your driver won’t come. If you don’t take my car, are you going to walk back?”

I frowned.

“Or, do you want to let your ex-fiancé come pick you up?”

Damn it! I’m so pissed off.

“Have you thought about it?”

I pursed my lips tightly and glared at him fiercely: “Fine, I’ll get in!”

Tomorrow, I will definitely go take my driver’s license test!

In the past, relying on having a private driver, I was too lazy to learn. I didn’t expect to be held by the throat by someone like this now.

As the car drove out of the villa area, I saw Hazel from afar.

She looked very excited, seemingly already aware that Sylvester and I had canceled our engagement.

To get the news in such a short time, that’s pretty impressive.

My eyes grew cold.

Frankly speaking, Hazel actually contributed to Sylvester and me moving from friends to lovers.

In college, when Hazel heard that Sylvester and I had a prior engagement but saw us acting coldly towards each other and rarely meeting up, she took the initiative to play matchmaker.

It was Hazel who dragged me to meet Sylvester every time, proactively prepared various gifts for him on my behalf, and acted as a middleman exaggerating how much I liked Sylvester, which eventually provoked him into confessing to me in public.

I thought that since Sylvester and I already had an engagement anyway, he had saved me when we were young, and his personality wasn’t bad, it wasn’t appropriate to refuse, and I wanted to try dating him.

I just didn’t expect that when our families heard we were dating, they would care even more than the people involved, which ultimately made it inconvenient for me to break up.

“Not happy?” Gabriel’s voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

“What?”

He pursed his lips tightly, probing: “Canceling the engagement with him, aren’t you happy?”

I frowned.

Honestly speaking, I originally thought I had at least some feelings for Sylvester, but upon hearing he cheated and even got another woman pregnant, my heart felt no ripples at all.

I even vaguely breathed a sigh of relief, feeling lucky to have discovered this before getting married, so I wouldn’t have to go through with this marriage…

Since when, subconsciously, had I treated this marriage like a task?

The car suddenly braked hard, startling me, breaking my train of thought: “What are you doing?”

He replied sulkily: “Red light.”

Looking at Gabriel, who had been acting bizarrely lately, moody and unpredictable, I couldn’t help but pinch his arm hard: “Can’t you brake properly for a red light!”

Gabriel yelped in pain, but still didn’t drop his indecent habit: “If you pinch me again, I’ll sue you for domestic violence.”

I showed obvious disgust: “Truly a dog’s mouth cannot grow ivory; no matter what face you change into, you are still as hateful as ever.”

His expression stiffened slightly, and suddenly he stopped talking.

Seeing him suddenly fall silent, I couldn’t help but suspect if I had been unreasonably harsh.

“I…”

Before I could finish my sentence, he suddenly laughed: “This young master doesn’t lack people who like him, I don’t need you, don’t worry.”

I frowned, pursed my lips, and didn’t bother speaking anymore.

Over the years, every time I got involved with him, it mostly ended up like this.

I was constantly confused about Gabriel as a person. I didn’t know whether he actually hated me, or… liked me.
