The Wedding Crasher Moment

Things had to be traced back to the previous week. On the eve of the engagement, I had a strange dream.

I dreamed that the world I lived in was a novel. I dreamed that Harrison would say that disrespectful line at the engagement party. I also dreamed that I endured all the humiliation, but out of old feelings, I bit my lip and agreed to marry him anyway.

However, at the wedding, someone crashed it. That person wore a mask and a hat, pulled my hand, and asked me over and over if I wanted to leave with him.

I refused. I chose to stay and become Harrison’s wife.

But from then on, a rift formed between Harrison and me. He was convinced that the wedding crash was a play directed and acted out by me, Just to give him a lesson.

No matter how I explained, he wouldn’t listen. Later, Harrison’s first love returned to the country, and he finally didn’t have to settle for less—he could marry the real female lead he wanted. Meanwhile, I died of breast cancer due to excessive depression.

The dream stopped abruptly there. I opened my eyes suddenly, covered in cold sweat.

It was real. Too real. The wedding in the dream, even the tactile sensation… Felt so real that it seemed to linger right in front of me.

I intended to treat it as just a dream. But at the engagement party the next day, Harrison said that exact sentence word for word.

The whole room went into an uproar. My mind also went blank.

At that point, I finally understood. I was merely an early-dying female supporting character used to advance the romantic storyline between the male and female leads. And that wedding crash was just a plot device to make Harrison despise me.

But— That wedding crasher, the familiar aura on him… Although I couldn’t see his face clearly, He was definitely one of Harrison’s three most trusted childhood friends.

Who on earth was it?

The answer was perhaps right in front of me. Looking at the photo in the trash can, I suddenly heard panicked footsteps behind me. Turning around, I bumped into Julian’s flustered face.

“Gwen, why haven’t you left yet?”

Saying that, his gaze caught the photo. His whole body instantly froze in awkwardness.

I asked: “What’s going on with this photo?”

Julian’s mind worked fast, and he said: “It was probably thrown away by Drake or Fabian.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yeah.” The newly rising top star pretended to stay calm and nodded.

“But the photo inside each invitation was different. Julian, why are you lying?”

Julian’s ears turned red, but he still stubbornly argued: “So what if I threw it away? Harrison is my good brother; I just think you don’t deserve him!”

“Oh.” I didn’t argue back. Changing the topic, I asked: “Then what do you think of that wedding photo of mine?”

“It looked good.” Julian blurted out.

He almost forgot that he was mocking me just a second ago. He regretfully bit his back teeth; this time even his neck turned completely red.

“I mean the atmosphere of your photo was shot quite well. I definitely didn’t mean you look good! You know, I’m in the entertainment industry—what kind of beauty haven’t I seen? In my eyes, you’re just average, at most an A-list starlet… no, B-list, C-list… 18th-list level!”

He ruined his own composure trying to defend himself. I didn’t expose him any further. After he finished talking, I finally spoke:

“By the way, Julian, do you know what the theme song for my wedding is?”

“Which one?”

“It’s the lead track from your last album, Gwen.”

Saying that, my eyes curved into a smile at his stunned face, and I added: “I picked it myself, you know.”

The song Gwen was written by Julian himself. It expressed unrequited love for a girl. Upon its release, it immediately topped various music charts. Fans were all guessing if the song was based on Julian’s personal experience.

However, because Julian usually acted dismissive toward me, I never thought that “Gwen” referred to me.

Now, I seemed to have the answer. The top star who manipulated the world of fame and fortune was now like a naive teenager whose secret feelings had been exposed. His face and neck were completely red. He stammered, trying to explain something, But ended up speaking incoherently.

Later, because pedestrians were about to recognize Julian, I quickly left him behind and ran off. I believed that Julian must be the wedding crasher.

But I never expected that A week later, I suddenly received an anonymous portrait. The attached message read: 【Don’t marry Harrison.】

This package appeared at my doorstep out of nowhere. It happened to avoid the blind spot of the security camera. There was no shipping label, making it impossible to trace the origin.

The bride in the painting was me wearing a wedding dress. But standing beside me holding my hand was the groom, not Harrison. The artist intentionally blurred the groom’s facial features, making it impossible for me to see clearly.

But one thing was certain: This was not sent by Julian, Because Julian couldn’t draw at all.

Then who was it?

Over the next few days, Every morning, a fresh painting and a bouquet of dew-kissed flowers appeared at my door together. The attached note always contained a affectionate confession.

After continuing like this for a week, On this particular morning, A man stealthily avoided the security camera, placing today’s flowers and painting at my door. Just as he was about to leave, I called out to him from behind:

“Fabian, what a coincidence.”
