My Dad Mocked Me At My Sister’s Wedding — Until 200 SEALs Saluted Me At The Wedding…

The wedding day dawned crisp and clear.

The estate was immaculate, dripping in white roses and imported crystal.

I spent the morning being poked and prodded by makeup artists who complained about the dark circles under my eyes, and squeezed into a mauve, off-the-shoulder gown that made me feel entirely exposed.

I felt like a stranger in my own skin.

Throughout the afternoon, I did my duty.

I held Chloe’s train, I smiled for the cameras, and I stayed out of my father’s way.

Richard was in his element, shaking hands with local politicians and boasting about Greg’s recent promotion.

Whenever he introduced me, it was always with a dismissive wave of his hand.

“And this is Sarah. She’s in the Navy. Clerical work, mostly.”

I swallowed my anger.

I told myself I was doing this for Chloe.

Today was about her.
