When I was thirteen, my parents threw me out of the house because I refused to give up a STEM scholarship so my sister could have it instead.

Fifteen years later, I’m the Chief Financial Officer of one of the largest real estate firms in Seattle.

The only man who ever truly chose me as his own — my uncle Harold — is gone, and he left his entire estate to me.

My parents showed up again.
